First is the much-awaited release of Sonic The Hedgehog based on the legendary Sega video game. The film shows that Sonic is hunted by the evil scientist Doctor Robotnik (Jim Carrey), who wants to use Sonic's extraordinary powers for world domination. "I am delighted to see Jim Carrey do what he does best. He was born to play that role," says Keeney. The final Sonic design remains true to the video game after a much-betrayed early turmoil design on social media and the studio postponed the release date to redesign the character. Next is Fantasy Island A horror film shot of the classic TV show, which takes place in a luxurious and secluded tropical resort where guests can make their dreams come true. "But these desires come at a tremendous price," notes Winn Blumhouse Productions is famous for low budget horror films like Paranormal Activity Get Out The Purge and more. "The film looks super freaky," continues Winn t. Fantasy Island opens in theaters on February 14.
Finally, with The Photograph we turn to the romance for Valentine's Day weekend. The film follows the story of Mae, a woman whose famous photographer, Mother, has just died unexpectedly. After finding a photo in a safe, Mae sets off to learn more about her mother and leads her to a romance with an aspiring journalist. Winn says, "We see two love stories here: Mother's past in New Orleans in the 1980s and Mae's story in the present." Keeney says: “Canadian director Stella Meghie is at the top and also wrote the script. She said she was drawn to the movie because stories about black love started to disappear. “ The photo is in theaters on February 14th.
