We’re a little less than two weeks from Croteams launch Serious Sam 4 and the developer has announced the specs you will need if you want to run the game at the time of release on September 24th. The basic and recommended specifications are as follows:
CPU: 4 cores Intel or AMD at 2.5 GHz
RAM: 8 GB
GPU: NVidia GeForce 780/970/1050 or AMD Radeon 7950/280/470
VRAM: 3 GB
Operating system: Windows 10 64-bit (1809/1903)
CPU: 8 cores Intel or AMD at 3.3 GHz
RAM: 16 GB
GPU: NVidia GeForce 1080/2060 or AMD Radeon Vega64 / 5700
VRAM: 8 GB
Operating system: Windows 10 64-bit (1909)
DirectX 12 or Vulkan
The specifications were posted on the official Croteam Discord along with a notice of the types of performance you can expect with your rig. The team reiterated that the minimum specifications were based on 720p at 30 frames per second and the recommended performance was based on 1080p resolution. Those who want “4K resolution and / or high frame rates” need better than the recommended one. The developers also made it clear that they will design the game so that any hardware above the minimum should improve its performance.
Serious Sam 4 will be released on September 24th for PC and Google Stadia. A release for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One is planned for sometime in the new year.
