Dell has issued a recall of versions of hybrid power adapters that were made between January 2017 and March 2017, internal components. That's the shock risk. Approximately 8,900 of the affected adapters are in the United States.
Those who have one can use the manufacturing code to check if they need their return. For the devices concerned, the following manufacturing code is printed on the back: "CN-05G53P – LOC00 – XXX – XXXX – AXX", the "X" stands for a number here.
Dell sold these adapters in addition to Amazon and other online retailers through its own website. It offers free replacement for all customers affected by the recall. The company also sells later versions of the Hybrid Power Adapter as they pose no risk to the user.
