Sony supports the Rocket League today with cross-play support. This now allows the PS4 Rocket League players to play against gamers on Xbox One, Nintendo's Switch or Steam PC players. Sony had previously limited Rocket League only to PS4 and PC, and rocket league developer Psyonix said it is waiting for Sony to stop the blocking of cross-play. Sony eventually retired with the Fortnite and of the Rocket League with a new policy change last year.
Fortnite and Rocket League to allow cross-play support in both titles. The developer of Rocket League Psyonix enables cross-play by default, and a future update will allow players to cluster across platforms. Players can create private matches that work specifically with friends until the update, otherwise it's a random matchmaking game on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC.
Psyonix also thanked the fans for having continued to press Sony to change his mind. "It's because of you our fans and our generous partners in all the systems and services that made this possible in the first place," said Jeremy Dunham, Psyonix's VP of Publishing. "On behalf of the entire team thank for your passion and perseverance while we do our best to make Rocket League the best experience we can."
