CBS has placed a series order on Star Trek: strange new worlds, a brand new series built on board the original U.S.S. Companies and follow the adventures of Captain Pike, Spock and Number One as they explore the galaxy. Anson Mount, Ethan Peckand Rebecca Romijn, who brought the characters to life in season two of Star Trek: Discoverywill repeat their roles.
CBS would not yet commit to whether or not Weird new worlds is set before or after Companies encountered discoverythe series is simply described as “set in the decade” before Captain Kirk boarded the U.S.S. Companiesas they explore new worlds around the galaxy. “The message was followed by one very adorable video with the three actors who confirm the show:
Talk about a spin-off that focuses on this modern revision of the Companies has been incredible since then discoveryThe second season ended and was based mainly on the excellent performances of Mount, Peck and Romijn in their time dealing with the crew of the latter ship. A new set of Short hikes Minisodes gave fans a little hit from a few more stories with this incarnation of Companies Bridge crew, but the question always lingered from only when an apparently inevitable split would happen.
Now the time has come and we can hardly wait to bravely go on further adventures with them. Star Trek: strange new worlds is based on a story by Akiva Goldsman, Alex Kurtzman and Jenny Lumet, who will also act as executive producers alongside Henry Alonso Myers, Heather Kadin, Rod Roddenberry, Trevor Roth, Aaron Baiers, Akela Cooper and Davy Perez.
