The final season of the Star Wars animated series The Clone Wars will be released on February 21st at Disney Plus. It was revealed today. These last 12 episodes will complete the story of the cult favorite series, which was canceled in 2013 but was brought back in part due to continued fan support for the show.
A new trailer was also unveiled for season 7 and it is still a beautiful looking series. You'll see the common villain Darth Maul and compete with Jedi Ahsoka Tano, one of the series' most popular characters, in a lightsaber duel.

All six previous series from The Clone Wars are now streamable to Disney Plus. This last episode of episodes was meant to connect the series' story with the place where things open up in Revenge of the Sith. The clone wars were now mentioned several times in live action: A living Darth Maul performed in solo, while Ahsoka Tano was one of the Jedi voices that Rey heard at the end of The Rise of Skywalker. A key element of the Clone Wars lore will also play a role in the second season of The Mandalorian.

Star Wars: It Never Ends
Even if there is no film this year, there will still be many Star Wars in 2020. If you were only worried about the end of The Mandalorian, season two will be here before the end of the year. We should also hear more about the other Disney Plus Star Wars shows in the works over the next few months, like the secession from Obi-Wan and the show that focuses on Cassian Andor from Rogue One.
In the meantime, The Clone Wars is worth seeing and not just for children. It helped keep Star Wars going in the quieter decade between Revenge of the Sith and the current Disney era, and has been praised for adding complexity to characters from the prequel trilogy like Anakin Skywalker that are hard to compare.
