Subaru will make the switch to 100% electric cars by the mid-2030s

Many car manufacturers nowadays at least manufacture electric cars or hybrids. This is because cars that no longer need fossil fuels are becoming more and more useful. In fact, Japanese car maker Subaru has announced that it will only sell electric cars until the mid-2030s.

Subaru is already selling hybrid and plug-in hybrids, but the company is expected to develop what it calls a "strong hybrid" vehicle with Toyota technology. During a briefing, Tetsuo Onuki, chief technology officer, said that despite using Toyota's technology, they still want to make cars that are clearly Subaru, want to make hybrids that are clearly Subaru. It's not just about reducing CO2 emissions. We need to further improve vehicle safety and the performance of our all-wheel drive. “ Subaru expects that by 2030 at least 40% of the cars sold will consist of either hybrids or battery-powered electric vehicles.

Subaru's approach and stance are interesting because they assume that their entire lineup will be completely electric by the mid-2030s. This is in contrast to other automakers like Bentley and Ferrari, who don't expect them to debut with electric cars anytime soon.
