Now, an international team of scientists established a consortium called "Waves in the Lower Solar Atmosphere (WaLSA)" to conduct the research, and used high-resolution observations from Dunn Solar of the National Science Foundation Telescope, New Mexico, to conduct the research To study waves.

The team of 13 scientists was led by Queen's University in Belfast, which included five countries and 11 research institutes.

Dr. David Jess from the Queen's School of Mathematics and Physics said the team's head said, "This new understanding of wave motion can help scientists figure out the missing part of why the outer layers of the sun are hotter than their surface . "

"By decomposing the sunlight into its basic colors we were able to study the behavior of certain elements of the periodic table in its atmosphere, including silicon (formed near the solar surface), calcium and helium (formed in the chromosphere, where the wave amplification is most apparent ), "added the researcher.

"By varying the elements, the velocities of the sun's plasma could be revealed, and the timescales in which they develop were measured to record the sun's wave frequencies, similar to the way a complex ensemble of music visualizes its own Score into fundamental tones and frequencies, "he continued.

The team then used supercomputers to analyze data through simulations and found that the wave amplification process is possible. This is attributed to the formation of an "acoustic resonator" in which significant temperature changes between the surface of the Sun and its outer corona create boundaries. which partially reflect and capture the waves, allowing them to intensify and dramatically increase in strength.
