T-Mobile made it clear that it is offering a $ 30 discount on the iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 12 – just like AT&T and Verizon. That means the phones will start at $ 699 and $ 799, respectively, for T-Mobile customers, instead of the usual $ 729 and $ 829 starting prices that Apple charges.
There has been no small amount of confusion over Apple’s pricing for the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini. During its announcement this week, Apple said the phones would start at lower prices of $ 799 and $ 699. However, it later became clear on the company’s website that they were actually discounted prices for AT&T and Verizon customers at full price ̵
T-Mobile has added an additional offer for customers who shop through Apple. In addition to Apple’s own trade-in offers for trading with an iPhone, an additional $ 150 is being offered.
At first, it seemed like T-Mobile wasn’t offering its customers a similar discount, but the company now lists the same $ 30 discount on orders made through Apple’s website – although, oddly enough, T-Mobile’s website is still that full price of $ 829 is listed. At least for the iPhone 12.
This leaves Apple’s unlocked option the only option. Changes to Apple aside, apparently, customers who want to buy an unlocked iPhone will have to pay an additional $ 30. It’s worth noting that, according to Apple, “all iPhone models are unlocked except those purchased with AT&T installment plans.” That means almost every AT&T, Verizon, or T-Mobile iPhone bought with that $ 30 discount is technically unlocked. However, customers only receive this discount when they purchase a carrier phone and activate it on that carrier.
