Tesla is facing a new investigation as the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says it will investigate the automaker's cars. Concerns concern accidental acceleration in the Model S Model X and Model 3 defect petition on December 1

9 last year, which prompted the agency to open an investigation into Tesla's electric cars , The newly installed probe covers the models S (2012-2019), X (2016-2019) and 3 (2018-2019). According to consumer complaints, Tesla vehicles have suddenly increased unintentionally, regardless of whether it was a malfunction or a driver error.

The NHTSA lists 127 complaints, including 123 individual vehicles. Of the complaints, 110 mentioned crashes and 52 injuries due to the alleged problem of acceleration.

Tesla did not immediately respond to a request for comment. The matter now lies with the Officer of Defects Investigation.

So far, there has been no public evidence that a vehicle fault was the cause of one of the incidents. Tesla's own investigation of the complaints revealed that a user error (e.g. pressing the wrong pedal) was the cause of a sudden acceleration
