AirPlay® 2 enables audio playback in multiple rooms with other “AirPlay® 2 devices” such as the HomePod, Apple TV and selected speakers from Sonos, Bose, Bowers & Wilkins and others. Users can choose where the music will play in the Control Center on an iOS device, or ask Siri to play music in a specific room or across the house.
The Onelink Safe & Sound presented at CES 2018 differs from a conventional smoke detector with an integrated loudspeaker and noise-canceling microphones as well as support for Amazon Alexa.
With existing HomeKit support, homeowners can add Onelink Safe & Sound to the home app and receive push notifications when smoke or carbon monoxide is detected. With HomeKit, the detector and music playback with Siri can be controlled via an iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Apple TV or a HomePod.
The Onelink Safe & Sound costs $ 249.99 and is currently available for $ 178.25 from Amazon in the United States.
