The Mobile World Congress 2019 is finally here and it was home to a number of great new phones at different prices. ZTE will not skip the show this year and took the opportunity to introduce its first 5G smartphone – the ZTE Axon 10 Pro 5G – alongside the dedicated midrange Blade V10.
Both new phones are characterized by modern design and neat design of specs, though the Axon 10 Pro is easily the more interesting of the two. Here's what you need to know about the ZTE Axon 10 Pro 5G and the ZTE Blade V10. ZTE Axon 10 Pro 5G
As the name implies, the ZTE Axon 10 Pro 5G offers 5G connectivity. It's ZTE's first phone to do this. What does that mean? When 5G networks are up and running, you can connect to the fifth-generation mobile network for faster speeds. However, the 5G rollout will take some time. So do not think you need to buy a 5G phone this year.
Looks modern too – the Axon 10 Pro has a screen with a border to the rim and a small drop shape. shaped notch for the front camera. There's a camera with three sensors on the back of the phone, but that's about it – the fingerprint sensor has been moved under the display much like the Galaxy S10 and the OnePlus 6T, but we do not know what technology is being used.
Maybe it's important what's under the hood. The Axon 10 Pro is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor with the X50 modem, enabling 5G connectivity. The 855 processor is what almost all flagship Android phones use this year. Expect a strong performance.
According to ZTE, the Axon 10 Pro 5G has an artificial intelligence engine that adjusts the allocation of CPU, GPU, RAM and ROM using AI algorithms. What that means exactly remains to be seen. This engine is also used for motion cameras, scene detection, etc.
Unfortunately, this is everything we currently know over the phone. ZTE gave us just a few details about the Axon 10 Pro 5G – but if we had to speculate, we would assume that the phone has at least 6 GB of RAM and at least 64 GB of memory. However, probably 128 GB are likely. We know that it will be available in the first half of 2019 and will come to Europe and China.
ZTE Blade V10
Details on the ZTE Blade V10 are a bit more specific. The phone also has a modern design with a similar size notch for the front camera. The difference is that it has a larger chin-stop and instead dispenses with the three-lens camera in favor of a double-lens sensor. In addition, there is a fingerprint sensor on the back of the phone. There is no sensor under the display. The screen is 6.3 inches tall and has a full HD resolution. At the bottom of the phone is a USB-C port.
When it comes to specifications, the Blade V10 has a 2.1GHz oct-core processor and either 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage or 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. As already mentioned, the camera is equipped with two lenses with a 16-megapixel sensor and a 5-megapixel sensor for depth detection. Interestingly, the front camera has a whopping 32 megapixels, and it offers the technology called "smart selfie" by ZTE, although we do not know much about it yet. The battery for everything that gets power has a capacity of 3,100 mAh.
The ZTE Blade V10 will be available in black, blue or green and will be available in China, Europe and Latin America in March.
