As more and more intelligent lighting products come onto the market, the prices for intelligent light bulbs continue to fall. Today there are more budget brands than ever before, and even well-known brands offer cheaper options. Sure, it's always nice to save money, and "affordable" means that more people can experience the incredible power of screaming in the air and making the lights in your bedroom respond. On the other hand, it is more difficult to make a choice and choose a product when there are more budget options to choose from.
Which affordable smart lights are worth buying? We have put together a worklist of some of the best affordable smart lights and what we love about them.
Lifx Mini White
Our favorite thing about the Lifx Mini is that it's really twist-and-play. Once your lightbulb is screwed in, just download the Lifx app and connect directly to Wi-Fi ̵
This powerful little light bulb delivers quite powerful 8 watts and solid 650 lumens at full brightness. The Mini is dimmable and its gloss level can be easily adjusted using the Lifx app and commands to popular voice assistants such as Alexa, Google Assistant and Siri.
With the app you can also set routines for the light bulb. Turn the lights on, off or off according to a set schedule. In further IFTTT experiments, the light bulb can even react to sunlight, weather conditions, and even the doorbell ring. You really can't go wrong for less than $ 25.
We have dealt with these bad guys before, but they deserve a big second mention. Regardless of whether you buy it as a single piece (under $ 10) or as a four-pack (under $ 40), Wyze is such a solid bet when it comes to smart lighting.
This is another hub-less contender. Simply connect the light bulb directly to Wi-Fi and control it with your preferred voice assistant (Alexa and Google enabled) or the Wyze app on your mobile phone (available for Android and iOS). With the Wyze app, you can adjust the color temperature and brightness of a single or multiple lamps at the same time with the very responsive grouping function.
To top it off, Wyze even offers you a programmable "vacation mode". Turns the lights on and off while you're away to keep the burglars at bay.
TP-Link Kasa Smart
The Kasa Smart is added to our favorites list because we cannot imagine another light bulb that does a lot and yet for so little. This dimmable multi-colored light bulb can set the mood in any part of your home, from soft yellow to read before bed to a quiet indigo for a romantic meal for two.
The Kasa is another system without a hub. Simply download the Kasa app (for iOS and Android) and connect your light bulb to Wi-Fi. Voice commands are also available through Alexa, Google Assistant and Microsoft Cortana. Enjoy countless hours creating mood scenes in the Kasa app, then say things like "Alexa, turn on the party scene" to adjust your lights to the color and darkness you chose for this rocking Saturday night.
Do you want a little more kindness? The light bulb can be coupled and grouped with other Kasa-Smart devices such as surveillance cameras and smart sockets.
Ikea Tradfri E26 dimmer kit
Ikea Smart Tech is on the rise, and the Tradfri range of smart lights and switches are a force to be reckoned with. The E26 warm lamp is already coupled with the dimmer switch provided. Just unpack, screw in the light bulb and off you go.
The Ikea Home app and voice control options for Alexa, Google Assistant, and Apple HomeKit offer additional levels of control and customization, but you'll also need to purchase a Tradfri gateway ($ 35) to use this Wi-Fi Functions work.
With the existing gateway, you can also create custom groups and scenes for up to 10 different Tradfri lamps, LED panels and door lights. Sengled Smart LED Soft White A19
Sengled's 800-lumen A19 is really one of the best purchases on this list. The light bulb can be controlled with or without a hub, and you can do a lot with just the Sengled app and the A19 connected to WiFi. Adjust the brightness, create lighting plans and scenes, view energy statistics and much more.
If you want to twist your hair up, you can buy the Sengled hub for around $ 40 to add voice control options from Alexa and Google Assistant. Even better, if you already have an Amazon Echo Plus, SmartThings hub or a Wink bridge, you can use ZigBee to pair your lights with your preferred voice assistant.
C by GE Life LED
Our favorite thing here The starter package with light bulbs is the ready-to-use partnership between GE and Google Home products. Simply screw the light bulb in and hop into your Google Home app to adjust the lighting and set schedules. No additional stroke is required. The quick pair technology is carried out exclusively via Bluetooth. Therefore, make sure that it is activated on your mobile device.
The lamps are also compatible with Alexa and HomeKit. For both assistants, however, the C-Reach Smart Bridge and a Wi-Fi connection are required.
Berennis Smart Light Bulb
This cool multi-colored package can be controlled and automated with both Alexa and Google Assistant without the need for a hub. This is something, especially for light bulbs with an impressive range of over 16 million colors and thousands of shades of white.
Simply screw it in, download the Magic Home Pro app (iOS and Android) and connect the light bulbs to Wi-Fi. Fi, and start controlling with your voice assistant right away (just make sure you add the Magic ability in your voice assistant app).
