The best iPhone 12 plans in Australia

The first pre-order plans for the iPhone 12 are now available in Australia. But there’s a lot to wade, so here are our picks of the best from Telstra, Optus, and Vodafone.

If you’re looking to browse more iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro plans, you’ve come to the right place. A full list of Telstra, Optus and Vodafone plans can be found here. For your information, the iPhone 12 and Pro will go on sale on October 23rd and the iPhone Pro Max and Mini won’t be pre-ordered until November 6th.

Cheapest iPhone 12 Plans

The absolute cheapest iPhone 1

2 plan owned by Vodafone by major Australian telecommunications company. It has the 64GB model for $ 72.47 per month. This is a period of 36 months and comes with 30 GB of data thanks to a promo that Vodafone is currently running.

If you prefer either Optus or Telstra, the cheapest tariffs apply to the same model and can be found here:

Cheapest iPhone 12 Pro

The Cheapest iPhone 12 Pro plan also belongs to Vodafone. It has the 128GB GB model for $ 82.19 per month. That still gives you 30GB of data and a 36 month plan.

If you prefer either Optus or Telstra, the cheapest tariffs apply to the same model and can be found here:

Best Value iPhone 12 Plans

When it comes to best value, things are a little more subjective. In this case, I believe a balance of price, storage, data inclusions, and contract duration is the best measure of value.

But different things are important to different people. You may not be interested in getting a 36 month contract. Or you don’t need more than 64 GB of storage space. If you want to see more options, we have a bigger list of iPhone 12 and 12 Pro plans that you can check out here.

Otherwise, these are my top tips.

First, Vodafone has a huge pre-order offer for iPhone 12 customers who choose the Super + plan. Not only is the plan currently priced at $ 10, it also includes duplicate dates. That translates to $ 55 a month for 200GB of data before adding the handset payback.

When you need that much data, take a look at the 128GB iPhone 12 on the 24-month Super + plan. It comes in at $ 114.54 a month.

But if you don’t have to download all of the internet every month, then I like the iPhone 12, which has 128GB and a 24-month Lite plan. This comes in at $ 94.54 per month. You can check out both plans here:

Telstra also has a great pre-order offer that was announced earlier this week. Big T cut its XL plan (which comes with 180GB of data) by $ 50 per month and cut it down to just $ 65 per month before adding the handset repayments. However, the discount is only valid for the first 12 months.

With that in mind, the 128 GB iPhone 12 with an XL data package over a 24 month period is an inexpensive plan. For 180GB of data, it’s $ 124.54 per month (for the first 12 months!). To be fair, this is more expensive and contains less data than what Vodafone offers. However, Telstra is generally a bit more expensive and has the best network coverage in the country.

On the Optus Up front, you might want to consider the 128GB iPhone 12 on a 24 month “medium” plan. The total is $ 108.52 per month and has 60 GB of data.

Best Value iPhone 12 Pro

Vodafones The $ 55 / month double pre-order plan also applies to the iPhone 12 Pro if you’re a data fiend.

Personally, I think the sweet spot is still in the Lite plan for a 24 month contract. It works for the cheapest iPhone 12 Pro with 128GB of storage and costs $ 105.79 per month.

My selection from Telstra is still the XL pre-order offer. For the 128GB iPhone 12 Pro, that’s $ 135.79 / month for the first 12 months, and you still get 180GB of data.

From Optus I’m sticking to the Medium plan, which is 60 GB / month on a 24 month contract. With the 128GB iPhone 12 Pro, it’s $ 119.77 / month.
