With the launch of Disney +, the company's streaming video service, which launched a catalog of more than 600 films and series across the vaults of Disney, Pixar, Marvel Studios, Lucasfilm and 20th Century Fox, Disney officially joined into the streaming wars.
The launch of Disney + was not without problems, and as subscribers see, the impressive catalog has some eye-catching gaps. In addition to some surprisingly missing films are missing in Disney + also a few shows that seem to be taken for granted for the service. Here are the TV shows that need to be added more quickly to the Disney + program than you can say: "MIC … KEY."

Disney + is well on its way to offering subscribers the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe, but it will not be complete until SHIELD agents become the mix added. Now, in its seventh and final season, the MCU spinoff has introduced a long list of Marvel Comics characters and concepts into the live action universe, from Quake and Ghost Riders to lesser known characters like Hive and Yo yo. The series follows the adventures of the eponymous international peacekeeping agency S.H.I.E.L.D., where MCU actor Clark Gregg made the leap from Marvel films to television as Agent Phil Coulson. Early episodes of the series included several crossovers with the MCU, with Samuel Jackson and Cobie Smulders replacing their roles as S.H.I.E.L.D. The agents Nick Fury and Maria Hill.
In terms of MCU's small-screen page, few shows were so closely linked to the events in Marvel's films. The show is likely to be included in the Disney + line after the license agreement with Netflix expires, but by then the Marvel Universe of the service will have a SHIELD-sized hole.
Cloak & Dagger
Inspired by the eponymous Marvel Comics duo, this two-season series in the MCU was followed by New Orleans teenagers Tandy Bowen and Tyrone Johnson, who acquire powerful abilities in an explosive accident and find that their seemingly opposing forces – one swings light while the other's power is submerged in darkness – becomes stronger when they are together. The series aired on ABC's Freeform network and even switched to another MCU series with a teenage cast – Hulus Runaways – during the two-season run. With the first season of Runaways on Disney + and so many other MCU projects that are currently or soon to be available, it only makes sense Cloak & Dagger also in the Marvel Corner of the service.
Completely New Mickey Mouse Club
Both the original Mickey Mouse Club from the 1950s and the animated Mickey Mouse Clubhouse series are available on Disney +, but the version of the series, which has grown up with a significant portion of Disney fans, is nowhere to be found. Launched in 1989, the Mickey Mouse Club ran until 1994 and contained a modern, reworked version of the popular Disney variety show, which updated the songs, fashion and format of the series for the Disney Channel. which had only been launched a few years earlier. Not only did it bring the series into the age of color television broadcasts, it also featured a long list of "Mouseketeer" performers who became global superstars. Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguilera, Ryan Gosling, JC Chasez, Keri Russell and Rhona Bennett began their career as Mousketeer of the series, which combined musical performances and skits with Disney segments. Given the high profile of the series' performers these days, it is surprising that the brand new Mickey Mouse Club is currently not represented in Disney +.
Muppet Show Best Shows
The Disney + Library offers a wealth of Muppet-related content, including both the original Muppet movies and modern reboots as well as the recently canceled series The Muppets and more recent, animated Muppet Babies show. However, what the streaming service does not offer subscribers is Jim Henson's original, wonderfully absurd sketch comedy series The Muppet Show . The Muppet Show a 21-time nomination for the Emmy Award and four-time winner, ran for five seasons from 1976 to 1982 and included an impressive list of hosts starring Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Gonzo and the rest of the Muppets -Bande tries to put together a weekly variety show that always seems to be in danger (often literally), but somehow manages to get together wonderfully week to week. The series' brilliance has won both a Peabody Award and the Television Award of Merit in 1978, and its title song with the appropriate title The Muppet Show Theme could be perhaps the greatest show theme ever created. Why Disney + is missing is unclear (but probably related to license issues), but it could easily become the most bingo-friendly content of the service when it arrives.
Although Disney + subscribers are offering the film of 1958 The Sign of Zorro it does not offer the original series from which this film originated. It is a peculiar omission, since The Sign of Zorro was actually just a compilation of eight episodes of the 78-part Zorro series of Disney, which were cut together to a play. The classic serial-style adventure followed the nondescript scholar Diego de la Vega, who in the early 1820s spent his time in the California region of today as a vigilante with swords to fight injustice. The series, which was broadcast from 1957 to 1959, has had a lasting impact on pop culture over the years, inspiring countless children to wear real and fictional capes and masks. Entertaining Fact: In the tradition of DC Comics, Bruce Wayne's parents were murdered after attending a theater show of The Mark of Zorro and it was his love for Zorro that played a role when he finally did Batman's cape and hood were put on. As one of Hollywood's greatest costume heroes, Zoro's absence from the Disney + library in his first and most famous TV incarnation is regrettable.
