Stardew Valley inventor Eric “ConcernedApe” Barone has said that while Stardew Valley 2 doesn’t “currently” exist, he “wouldn’t be surprised” if we got a sequel at some point.
While he wouldn’t be drawn to his upcoming plans, Barone said that while he wasn’t ready to “commit” to Stardew Valley 1.6 – which is no surprise given that 1.5 is still in development – he is not surprised would be if it were there was “another Stardew Valley update or multiple updates or a Stardew Valley 2”.
“I’m not ready to get involved with Stardew Valley 1
“There is currently no Stardew Valley 2; after 1.5 I will decide what the next step is for Stardew Valley. But I would say there will probably be one more step for Stardew Valley. In the meantime, I also work on a few new projects – solo projects – so I have a lot to do. “
How for these other projects? Barone has revealed very little about its next games, but both games are meant to be single-player, top-down 2D games with a pixel-art aesthetic, one of which is a non-farm game in the world of Stardew Valley. However, Barone has suggested that fans “don’t get hyped at this point.”
The Stardew Valley 1.4 free content update, released late last year, introduced a variety of quality of life improvements and additions, including improvements in multiplayer, fish farming, tailoring and dyeing clothes, new mine content, as well as new clothing options, hairstyles, buildings and Decorations. Oh, and a garbage bear.
