The Galaxy S21 (S30) could be the last Samsung flagship to have a perforated display

Samsung reportedly had its back in 2018 Advances in sub-picture cameras during an event in China. Two prominent leaks suggest the technology is ready to be commercialized and we may see it next year.

Under-panel cameras have their own challenges, largely due to lower light transmission rates, which can affect image quality. There is also the aesthetic issue due to the discrepancy between the pixels per inch (PPI) of the camera area and the rest of the screen. This is something Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi̵
7;s general manager Lu Weibing has publicly highlighted. OPPOs The prototype it demonstrated last year had similar problems.
Ice Universe claims that Samsung is doing much better in this regard, and that its under-screen camera technology is much better than the implementations we’ve seen so far. The company is keen to keep improving the technology, which is why we probably won’t see them on the website Galaxy S21 (S30).
Supply chain insider Ross Young also joined the discussion and is pretty confident that the Samsung under-display camera will make its debut next year. If the company doesn’t equip the Galaxy S21 with the tech, we’ll likely see it on the Galaxy Z Fold 3.

The iPhone notch is apparently on its way out too

Apple is another company that appears to be working on an in-display camera. If Apple cracks the code by next year, The successor to the iPhone 12 will likely do away with the notch that famous Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo had forecast in 2019.
These speculations also agree with a Patent application representing a notchless iPhone. The company is also said to be working on an in-display Touch identification.
Ice’s tweet also lends credibility to a recent report on Apple’s eagerness to get one out foldable iPhone ASAP.
