The jury decides that Apple violated three Qualcomm patents in iPhones



Qualcomm filed a lawsuit in 2017 for the issue. The patents refer to the fact that phones can establish a fast connection to the Internet after being switched on. Battery efficiency and graphics processing; and a traffic management feature that allows apps to download data faster.

According to CNET Apple argued that an engineer named Arjuna Siva had made significant contributions to boot-up technology and should have been working for the company named in that patent. However, Siva (now a Google employee) eventually decided not to testify at the San Diego hearing, and the jury suggested Apple.

Apple has later started selling iPhone 7 and iPhone 8 in Germany after exchanging Intel modems for Qualcomms.
