In his ongoing quest to remain relevant, former White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci plunges his toes into the conspiracy pool of QAnon. And with a straight face, it's really hard to say.
To be honest, The Mooch probably did some shit by pouncing on a few "true believers" of the underprivileged pro-Trump American Priority Conference on Friday. He did not know that a reporter was standing nearby and listening.
According to Politico, The Mooch noted that a married couple from Virginia wore some QAnon utensils that were the same kind of crap recently demoted to a Florida sheriff's replacement. Scaramucci began a conversation with the couple by telling them that the mysterious person behind QAnon was "very accurate on so many things" and that "if you find out who he is, you will not believe it."
This latter statement may indeed apply.
Faced with the reporter's exchange, The Mooch invented a cover story.
At "coffee with Mooch" on Friday morning, the White House's former communications director, who apparently did not know the presence of a nearby reporter, spoke of the theory as a couple from Stafford, Virginia , showed him his Q utensils. (Q is the otherwise anonymous author of the QAnon theory.)
Scaramucci, who was approached immediately afterward by POLITICO, said his comments did not refer to Q but referred to an earlier conversation with the couple about the succession of John Kelly as chief of staff of Trump. Then Scaramucci said his comments should be taken off the record, and one conference organizer said the event was closed to the press.
Unfortunately, the two couples Kathy and Steve Miroy were not aware of Scaramucci's cover story for The Mooch. He told the reporter, "He talks about Q."
And that sums up the American Priority Conference, an event that resembles the CPAC but has more MAGA Kool-Aid and fewer people.
The keynote speaker of the first edition of the Washington, DC event was Roger Stone. Another guest scheduled for Saturday is Trump's "Coffee Boy" George Papadopoulos, who was released from prison after twelve days for lying to Special Counsel investigators Robert Mueller.
He publishes a book titled "DEEP" STATE TARGET. "
According to the website of the American Priority Conference, the event was also a premiere of" HOAXED: The War of the Media Against the Truth ", but I'm Me not sure if that should be ironic.
