Updating Microsoft Skype for Web is here, so Chrome and Edge users no longer need to use the service's stand-alone app to access features such as HD video calling and call recording. The service has also received a number of interface enhancements to help track the content of the calls.
The first is a new notification box where you can see every time someone mentions or quotes you in the same place. Then there is a new media gallery that contains all links or media sent via a text chat. So you can quickly find an image that has been sent without having to go through the rest of the text conversation. There is also a new feature that lets you search in individual conversations.
Updated Skype for Web is now available on computers running Windows 10 or MacOS 10.12 Sierra and higher. However, the new version of the service only works with Chrome and Microsoft's own edge browser. Other browsers like Firefox, Safari or Opera are currently not supported.
