Logitech has been moving into the ergonomic mouse area for some time now, with hardware such as MX Ergo and MX Vertical. With the introduction of the shared Ergo K860 keyboard, the company now wants to expand its ergonomic accessories to the keyboard area.
According to Logitech, the design of the Ergo K860 reduces muscle strain on your wrists and forearms compared to conventional keyboards due to the palm rest and the curved design with split keys.
Similar to Logitech's Craft and MX Keys keyboards, which are supposed to be the natural counterparts of the MX Master 3 mouse, the Ergo K860 was designed for combination with the MX Ergo and MX Vertical mice developed by the company. The goal of the Ergo K860, like the other ergonomic products, is to offer a product with comfort and stress reduction that still looks and feels like a professional high-end product.
The integrated palm rest consists of three layers of material: one made of high-density foam, one made of memory foam and the last one made of an “easy-care” coated fabric (this cleaning part) is important because the palm rest is not removable , Instead of an adjustable stand on the back of the keyboard, the Ergo K860 has hidden pop-out clips on the underside of the palm rest, which can be used to lift the front of the keyboard at two different angles.
The keyboard itself can either be connected to a Mac or Windows PC via a direct Bluetooth connection or via the USB dongle provided, with up to three devices being supported at the same time. The Ergo K860 also supports Logitech's flow software, which allows you to easily switch between multiple devices, provided you use a compatible mouse (like all other Logitech MX series devices) The battery life of a pair of AAA batteries does that biggest disadvantages of the keyboard clearly: There is no battery and no integrated backlighting for the keys, two things that are disappointing when they are missing on a $ 130 keyboard.
The Ergo K860 will be available this month for $ 129.99 on the Logitech website and on Amazon. Retail availability is planned for February.
