A full fitness tracking suite and 10 days of battery life with a smartwatch that costs only $ 59.99 / £ 54.99 / AU $ 89.99? Yes, you read that right!
Chinese company Mobvoi is known for its affordable smartwatches and headphones like the very impressive TicWatch E and AirPods Pro-like TicPods ANC. Everything in the company’s catalog is very economical, but nothing beats the price of the brand new TicWatch GTX.
However, where the older Mobvoi smartwatches are all powered by Google’s WearOS, the TicWatch GTX is leading this path for the first time since the TicWatch 2, which was available for a short time in 201
To keep costs down, the TicWatch GTX runs on a custom operating system called Realtime OS. And if you think Mobvoi’s new smartwatch is skimming features, think again.
Where many WearOS smartwatches struggle with battery life (usually just a day), Mobvoi promises that the operating system has been optimized for up to 10 days of juice.
Of course, this is only in energy-saving mode. In standard mode, you’ll likely wait seven to eight days before plugging it in to recharge. Still, this is far better than most WearOS watches.
You can choose from a number of watch faces or use photos stored in your phone’s picture library as the watch face of your choice.
It will track your fitness regimen throughout the day (including your heart rate) and your sleep through the night. 14 training modes are available on board, and the new wearable is swim-proof with IP68 water and sweat protection.
As with any other smartwatch, you get notifications of calls and messages right on your wrist. From there, you can also control your music and ping your phone if you can’t find it.
Everything is housed in a 48 mm housing with a 3.28 cm TFT display.
It’s not an Apple Watch 6 – or even an Apple Watch SE – but for such a low price, it’s probably worth considering. The TicWatch GTX is now available directly from Mobvoi and you will receive a 10% discount when you boot.
