The Oculus Designer creates an LED face mask to promote social distancing

Facebook's corporate mission is to "bring the world closer together". However, since the corona virus continues to endanger lives around the world, one of the company's designers has developed a novel tool to keep people apart a bit. Chelsea Klukas, Oculus design manager, works under her fashion technology brand Lumen Couture and has introduced a face mask that can be used to animate short messages or graphics on a large screen.

Available for pre-order for $ 90 and expected to ship in early May – "maybe sooner!" – The LED matrix face mask combines a relatively low-resolution but bright 512-pixel LED display with a USB battery and a washable face mask made of cotton / mesh. With an Android or iOS app, you can draw a picture, write text, or use a mask preset that takes 3-4 hours per charge. This is enough to visit the supermarket and / or go to or from home
