The boys stormed Amazon last year with their unshakably violent turn against not so family-friendly superheroes. Based on the comic by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, the series follows a group of guards who have every reason to take revenge on the world’s popular superhero team, The Seven. Thanks to the good marketing of The Seven’s corporate overlords, the superheroes hide their secretly arrogant, corrupt identities. Heavy issues like corruption and sexual assault are integrated into the dark superhero tariff.
The teasers introduced the new social media hero Stormfront (Aya Cash), who stands up to Homelander (Antony Starr) with incredible confidence. In the meantime, Butcher (Karl Urban) and the rest of the boys have to deal with the goal of being searched.
Here is the summary from Amazon:
“Running away from the law chased by the Supes, the boys are desperate to regroup and fight Vought in a more intense, crazier season 2. In hiding place Hughie (Jack Quaid), breast milk (Laz Alonso) , Frenchie (Tomer Capon) and Kimiko (Karen Fukuhara) are trying to adjust to a new normal, but Butcher (Karl Urban) is nowhere to be found, and in the meantime Starlight (Erin Moriarty) has to take her place in The Seven as Homelander (Antony Starr) His goal is to take complete control and his power is threatened by the addition of Stormfront (Aya Cash), a new supe who knows social media and has his own agenda. Focus on threat and make waves as Vought tries to capitalize on the nation’s paranoia. “
Season 2 of The Boys will be released on September 4th on Amazon.
