It looks like the OnePlus Nord won’t be launched in the US, but the next phone within its range could be – and a potential leak may just have exposed this upcoming affordable handset.
This comes from an inside source speaking to Android Central, which named the phone and provided information on many of its specs. As with all leaks and pre-release information from smartphones, take this with a pinch of salt. Since we can’t validate the source of Android Central, all we have to do is bring you what they say.
Apparently this new phone is called the OnePlus Nord N1
The price is reportedly going to be around $ 400 (around £ 310, AU $ 550), which appears to be a bit cheaper than £ 379 (around $ 480, AU $ 680) of the original Nord, although it’s difficult to find that Compare prices if this phone is not for US.
OnePlus Nord N10 5G specifications
Apparently the OnePlus Nord N10 5G is powered by the Snapdragon 690 chipsetThis is Qualcomm’s cheapest 5G processor right now. In addition, there are supposedly 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage.
Interestingly, the Nord N10 also has a 64-megapixel quad camera setup. This is a first for OnePlus, which previously stayed at 48 megapixels. The other cameras are said to be an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens and two 2-megapixel additional sensors, possibly depth measurement and macro.
Even if the phone is a mid-ranger, it still retains the Nord’s 90Hz refresh rate on its 6.49-inch display with Full HD + resolution, at least according to the leak. OnePlus may return to an LCD panel to keep costs down. This display technology was given up in 2015 with the OnePlus 2.
The inside source paints a picture of a pretty impressive affordable phone, and we’re excited to see if it turns out to be true. However, if you want something even cheaper, it seems that OnePlus will soon have another phone in the US that will cost even less, code-named OnePlus Clover.
