The Warner Bros CEO wasn’t sure if Mortal Kombat 11 would go well with Switch – My Nintendo News

Scott Hawkins, head of the developer relations team at Nintendo of America, shared the information one of the executives at Warner Bros didn’t have in a recent interview with video game studios that may be interested in getting their games to the Nintendo Switch Sure it was a good idea to bring the violent Mortal Kombat 11. It turned out that bringing Mortal Kombat 11 to Switch was a fantastic idea as it was the top selling game on the platform for a month in the US.

“When Warner Bros. got the first playable build of Mortal Kombat 11 working on Nintendo Switch, I flew downstairs and met with the team in Southern California. One of the executives there met with me and showed me the game, and we played it. He looked at me and said, “Scott, are you sure Nintendo wants this game on Nintendo Switch?” And I said, “Yeah, we really want this game.”

“He was concerned because it’s a mature title that wouldn’t be Nintendo-friendly. But sure, after seeing the first month’s sales and seeing that it’s the number one game on the platform, it shows that there is an audience. There is an audience on the platform for many different types of content and that has been a huge success. “
