A new start-up looking to revolutionize corporate content management has announced the completion of a $ 9.3 million Series A funding round and further additions to its impressive list of supporters.
Sanity, known as the “ultimate content platform”, already supports a community of more than 50,000 content creators and processes more than 3 billion API calls per month.
The company’s final funding round was led by Threshold Ventures. More interesting, however, is that Ev Williams, co-founder of Twitter, Medium, and Blogger, Stephanie Friedman (formerly Microsoft), and Monochrome Capital, Venture Capital, are on the list of other backers founded by Ben Metcalfe (the co-founder of WP Engine).
Sanity differs from other CMS platforms by visualizing content as a dynamic element within the digital experience ̵
One of the reasons Sanity is causing so much buzz is because its funders certainly know a thing or two about digital content. Metcalfe, in particular, can refer to his work as co-founder of the leading WordPress digital experience platform.
“Sanity has reinterpreted the headless CMS, bringing content closer to the developer, where it can exist as a defective content system for recording an entire company,” Metcalfe said in a statement. “With CMS so close to my roots, I couldn’t be more pleased that Sanity is Monochrome Capital’s first investment.”
Despite the startup’s successes so far, it looks like it faces competition from other companies looking to shake up the content creation world. Other new players, including Shogun, Commercetools, Strapi and ContentStack, are also making their mark.
