This Raspberry Pi laptop has a feature that even the most expensive MacBook Pro lacks

A Raspberry Pi project is currently hosted on Kickstarter CrowPi2;; a device that its creator describes as a “STEAM education platform and Raspberry Pi laptop” (sic). At the time of writing, there are 50 days remaining and more than $ 150,000 pledged from 580 supporters.

The project launched by Elecrow aims to deliver a working product with a basic kit for around USD 170 (around GBP 140 / AU $ 250) and various optional extras by August 2020, with which the price will almost double leaves. Surprisingly, the most expensive bundle (the Advanced Kit) is by far the most popular.

The CrowPi2 laptop is available in three color schemes and is a surprisingly well-designed product ̵

1; at least on paper. It also has a 2 megapixel front camera, which is superior to the models than is the case with more expensive laptops like that Dell XPS 13 or the Apple MacBook Pro 16Both have a 720p HD Webcam.

Raspberry Pi powered

The CrowPi2 has an 11.6-inch Full HD IPS display and its detachable keyboard hides a variety of sophisticated functions, such as: B. a custom design container (we call it a secret compartment) for components or a power bank /Laptop charger.

The simplest kit includes an RFID card + tag, a 9G servo, a stepper motor, an IR receiver and a remote control, a humidity sensor, a DC motor with mini fan, micro-HDMI and a full-size HDMI connector.

There’s also a card reader, a 32 GB SD card preinstalled with an operating system, a package of components, and – since the goal of $ 100,000 was reached – headphones with a microphone.

Note that it doesn’t contain a Raspberry Pi module (you’ll need to provide your own), but it’s compatible with a variety of operating systems. Windows 10 IOT, CenOS, KALI, FreeBSD, Ubuntu, Raspbian etc.
