Twitter is witnessing an outrage that began early Thursday evening. Some users report problems sending tweets and updating their schedules starting a little after 5:30 p.m. ET. We haven’t seen any new tweets since then, although we were able to find a tweet using Twitter’s search tool that wasn’t sent until 5:40 p.m. ET.
User generated reports on Downdetector.com also skyrocket, but there is no communication from the company itself of the nature of the outrage. The last major outage on Twitter in February of this year enabled users to bypass this outage by scheduling tweets. This doesn̵
Verge Employees are seeing the outage in the US and UK even though we were able to send some DMs through the platform.
Twitter’s API Status website continues to state that everything is up and running, although Twitter’s systems may become so hampered that the company cannot refresh the page. Twitter did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
