Twitter lets you follow users who receive updates from their tweets. However, not all posts will be published that you might be interested in. In this case, it's easier to use hashtags to sort messages and topics. The good news, however, is that Twitter will make some changes on this front.
According to a report by The Verge, Twitter soon allowed users to follow topics rather than users. This feature allows you to track topics of your choice and interest. So, if you prefer not to follow a particular person, you can instead track topics that may provide more targeted topics.
] There will be around 300 themes to choose from, ranging from sports to entertainment, games and more. Just as the tracking system works on Twitter, you can find tweets of accounts that also tweet about these topics and may be more credible on those topics.
That being said, this is not a brand new concept. Instagram also has a similar feature where users can follow hashtags to get content similar to what they're interested in.
