WhatsApp groups can now be muted forever on Android. IOS may also be updated

WhatsApp users on Android phones can celebrate a new feature thanks to a new feature now available on WhatsApp for the latest Android beta update. The feature in question is the ability to mute group conversations forever, and the latest update changes the UI for muting WhatsApp groups. From now on, users can mute WhatsApp groups for 8 hours, a week or a year. In addition to the options for 8 hours and a week, WhatsApp users on Android now have the option “Always” to tick, so that they can recover from those annoying WhatsApp group calls that they would rather avoid than be notified.

WhatsApp group conversations have often been the attraction of many jokes and controversies. While occasional family groups are hotspots for new WhatsApp stickers, groups on WhatsApp have also faced significant controversy regarding cyberbullying, fraud, and other related activities. With that in mind, WhatsApp has introduced stricter privacy controls that now allow users to restrict who can add them to a WhatsApp group. Once the privacy settings are enabled, group invitations are sent in the form of a private message that a user can use to view the group topic and the members it contains. The new feature that lets users mute groups forever helps make group conversations more tightly controlled.

Other new features discovered in WhatsApp for Android̵

7;s latest beta update include removing voice and video call buttons from the UI of a WhatsApp business account, which appears to be a cosmetic overhaul. WhatsApp also has a new memory graph that shows users how much space WhatsApp media is taking up on their phones, giving them a good indication of when to clear the memory. The other new feature is an automatic WhatsApp picture centering guide, which allows users to add more convenient stickers by precisely centering these elements.
