Buying an Apple Watch Series 5 can be expensive for those looking to keep track of their daily fitness routine. For many people, spending 40,900 rupees is just too much. Yes, Apple still sells the Series 3, but it lacks a lot of features such as EKG, fall detection or the display that is always on. The solution? Start an inexpensive Apple Watch model that is similar to the Series 4 but excludes the EKG feature from the Series 5.
Will a $ 199 Apple Watch SE launch on September 15?
Apple reportedly plans to launch a lower-cost Apple Watch next week that will help the company compete with smartwatches from Fitbit and Huawei. The so-called “Apple Watch SE” was announced during the company’s event on September 15. The Apple Watch SE will be announced along with the Apple Watch Series 6.
In a tweet this week, Apple leaker Jon Prosser says the Apple Watch SE will mimic the Series 4, which was discontinued last year. This means that the upcoming Apple Watch SE will have significantly reduced frames around the screen and of course larger displays. The watch is said to be available in 40mm and 44mm options. In comparison, the Apple Watch Series 3 can be purchased in 38mm and 42mm models.
However, the new affordable Apple Watch may not have the EKG function, fall detection, or always-on display. According to Prosser, the Apple Watch SE would contain the M9 chipset.
If the news turns out to be true, then for the first time, Apple will offer its popular Apple Watch in an affordable style. Given the current economic climate, it would make sense for Apple iPhone users to be able to offer an affordable alternative in the form of the Apple Watch SE. This would help Apple enter an area that has never bought an Apple Watch before. By offering a cheaper Apple Watch, Apple has seen sales growth in iPhones, especially in emerging markets like India.
The strategy of offering inexpensive alternatives to more expensive models has proven itself in Apple’s favor. Earlier this year, Apple announced the second-generation iPhone SE for $ 399. The iPhone SE shares many of the same specs as the iPhone 11, but the design of the phone is similar to the iPhone 8. There is clearly a demand for a cheaper iPhone in 2017, which is why Apple is offering a device like the iPhone SE.
A cheaper Apple Watch SE with the Series 4-like design and better built-in features is what Apple needs to keep up with the competition. Apple currently sells the Series 3, which is several years old but now starts at Rs 20,900.
