According to the status page of the PlayStation Network service and DownDetector, PSN is currently experiencing connectivity issues on PlayStation 4, especially with social features and online gaming. PS4 users cannot access their party and friends list and cannot play online games. Some even report freezes and crashes.
“You may have difficulty launching games, applications or online features. Our engineers are working to fix the problem as soon as possible, and we thank you for your patience,” reported the official PSN service status tracker.
The problems occurred after the firmware update 8.00 was released. It’s not clear whether the two are related, but some users were prompted with “Unable to load”
We understand that users are currently struggling to access certain features of PlayStation Network. We are currently investigating. Thanks for your patience.

PlayStation’s official support account on Twitter has confirmed the issue, which is currently being investigated. We will continue to monitor and update the situation as soon as things are up and running again.
If you want to check out the new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare patch released this morning, you’ll have to wait a little longer. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War beta kicks off tomorrow after an exclusive PS4 Alpha weekend – hopefully PSN issues will be resolved by then.
