You don’t need a PS5 for Horizon Forbidden West, Spider-Man: Miles Morales or Sackboy

Some games are still discontinued for PS4

Sony is obviously able to sell new consoles to as many people as possible. However, if the PlayStation 5 launches on November 12th (pricing and release dates are listed here), Sony won’t need the new hardware to play some of the most anticipated games.

As part of a very beefy press release Sony sent out immediately after the PS5 stream that afternoon, it was revealed that three games are available for PlayStation 4, although it wasn’t exactly expected. Horizon forbidden west, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, and Sackboy A great adventure will all hit PS4 too when they launch.

Two of these will also serve as PS5 launch games. Spider-Man: Miles Morales and Sackboy Both will be released on November 1

2th on new and final generation consoles. As part of everyone Spider Man Details that we have today it seems Miles Morales has cross-buy functionality between the PS4 and PS5 versions. Anyone not immediately all-in on a PS5 can buy Miles Morales, play it on PS4 and finally enjoy all the improvements on the road when they end up snapping a PS5.

horizon is a bit more of a strange case. Horizon forbidden west won’t be released until sometime in 2021. Still, there will be a PS4 version, although Sony will focus entirely on PS5 until then. Perhaps this is an answer to Xbox’s policy that all first-party games be intergenerational for the first few years? Whatever the logic, it’s more good news for the not early adopters.
