YouTube combats TikTok with shorts, available in the main app



Rumor has it – and according to other social networks – YouTube today announced “Shorts” as a “new short-form video experience for creators and artists who want to record short, catchy videos using just their mobile phones.”

YouTube short films last 15 seconds or less and focus on three main areas: create, discover and watch. Starting with the creation process, the Google company promotes a “simple and entertaining” workflow. Access is via a distinctive plus symbol in the lower bar. Integrated tools include:
